Join us for Making Strides for Sanctuary 2020, Sanctuary's 11th annual funraising run/walk/roll! The act of moving forward together beautifully captures how we, at Sanctuary, strive to be a community, accompanying each other as we walk through life.

This year we are running/walking/rolling to raise $120,000 to support all of our regular activities, from street outreach, to healthcare, to advocacy, to community arts, to weekly meals. These funds will also support the extraordinary needs of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year's event will be virtual, offering you more ways than ever to Make Strides for Sanctuary!

We are delighted to announce that a group of generous donors will be matching all gifts up to $50,000! This is an amazing chance for you to double the impact of your gift!

Events

5k Run- record your time on the results page. Fastest runner and fastest runner under 17 win a prize!

10k Run- record your time on the results page. Fastest runner wins a prize!

5k walk/roll- send 1) a fun selfie from your walk/roll, 2) a picture of any wildlife you spot along your route or 3) your homemade run t-shirt to strides@sanctuarytoronto.ca for a chance to win a prize!

When

You can run, walk, or roll anytime between September 14th at 9:00am and September 19th at 11:30am and submit your times and picture entries all week long. You can also start at 10:00am on September 19th with our live stream countdown!

We will host a Grand Finale live stream at 12:00pm on September 19th to announce the winners and share our fundraising results!

Registration

Individual: $35/ticket

Groups (3-8): $30/ticket

Kids under 11: Free!

Youth (12-16): $25

Pay What You Can: We want everyone to be able to make strides with us! If the cost of a ticket is prohibitive for you, you can register using the "Pay What You Can" option. The ticket itself is free, but you can make a donation in the amount of your choice.

You can also register as part of a team to raise funds and make strides together!

FAQ

a. Will I get a tax receipt for my donation?

You sure will! All donations over $10 are eligible for an official charitable tax receipt. Registration fees are not eligible for tax receipts.

b. Do I have to run/walk/roll to raise money or donate?

Nope! We'd love for you to join us, but if that's just not in the cards for you we would deeply appreciate your donation and/or fundraising efforts!

c. Can I participate if I don't have internet access or a running app?

Yes and yes!

If you are a Sanctuary community member who needs a device to take photos or participate in the livestream, you can speak to anyone on staff at Sanctuary.
