Think you have what it takes to Beat Beethoven? Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 in C minor generally takes about 31-35 minutes to play, depending on the conductor and orchestra.
This inaugural "Beat Beethoven Virtual 5K" is a fundraising event for Classic 107.3, the Voice for the Arts in St. Louis, and will take place December 15-20, 2020 in celebration of Beethoven's 250th Birthday. (Beethoven was baptized on December 17, 1770, so it's likely he was born one or two days before.) We'll be playing Beethoven's 5th Symphony on Classic 107.3 every day of the race period so that you can run to the music with encouragement from our hosts. If you finish the 3.1 miles before the last note sounds, you've officially beaten Beethoven!
We hope to have at least 250 supporters participating in this virtual race, and everyone who registers will receive an event t-shirt and a finisher's medal (plus on-air shoutouts if you "beat Beethoven")! Kids under the age of 18 receive a $10.73 discount on the registration price.
