As our event was such a success last year and so enjoyable for our participants and the animals, we had planned to hold another this year. As we are all social distancing to help in the effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19, Penny Lane is unable to hold a walk/run in-person event this year.

We are so appreciative of your participation in our events and your support is so important to the animals! In these uncertain times we know how much joy the animals bring to us and to all of you, so we would like to invite you to join us (virtually) as we come together to walk or run for the animals of Penny Lane!

Prizes!

We are very excited to announce there will be some amazing prizes!!

The fastest finisher in each category (1k, 2k, 5k) will receive a Penny Lane Merchandise gift basket.

In addition to this, every participant who completes their walk/run (must be completed within one go) within the specified time period will be entered into a draw to win a Family Visit to Penny Lane Farm Sanctuary.

We know how much you love the open days and opportunity to meet the animals. This will be your chance to meet them with no other visitors around and to really spend some quality time with them. The private visit will be for a 2-hour duration, you will be introduced to all of the animals, you will hear about their stories, you will be able to ask any questions and of course get lots and lots of cuddles!

Please note: You can of course choose to walk any of these distances, running is not mandatory, just be aware that the merchandise prizes are for the fastest time in each distance, and there is one prize per distance category. However, completing at a walk will still give you an entry into the prize draw for the amazing prize of the Private Family Visit. The visit will be arranged at a later date in accordance with social distancing guidelines, the visit will be for a maximum of 8 and the group must include one adult. The date of the visit will be arranged once Penny Lane Farm Sanctuary have deemed it safe to allow visits.

The race must be run within the event window of August 1-3, unfortunately any submissions outside of this window cannot be accepted.

How does this work?

1. Click the registration button and it will take you through the registration process.

2. You will receive an email asking if you want to download the free version of Runkeeper to track your activity. For video instruction of using Runkeeper to track your activity and results, watch this short video tutorial. You have the option to use the recommended app, or any app of your choosing to record your race, providing it can record date and timing of your run to ensure it is in line with the event timings. To submit a manual virtual result not using Runkeeper, go to our results page HERE (just be sure to be logged into your Race Roster account and submitting between the event dates).

3. Plan your walking/running route to ensure it meets the required distance and that it is a safe route. Ensure you take appropriate safety measures on the day, including staying hydrated.

3. Ensure you upload your results after completion, feel free to tag us on Instagram or Facebook (let us know which animal you are walking/running to support), we love to see your participation!
