Help Sarah raise money

I started running (slowly, with lots of breaks to walk) in middle school, and somehow picked up more momentum as I went - running my first half marathon my senior year of high school and moving on to full marathons in college and beyond. Distance running has always been a calm, therapeutic, and safe place for me, regardless of what is happening in my life; however, the murder of Ahmaud Arbery this summer was a stark reminder that running isn't yet a safe space for everyone. This 5k is more than a run - it's about raising awareness of - and fighting against - systemic racism. I am raising money for Violence in Boston, which works to create safer, healthier, and empowered black and brown communities in the Boston area.
