Ready to join the fight for Racial Justice?
Acts of inhumanity, violence, and unequal treatment for BIPOC individuals are all around us. We witness them daily in our families, our workplaces, our schools, our communities, and on our newsfeeds. When we look back through years, decades, and centuries into our nation’s past we see these patterns repeated time and time again. Throughout history our society has been designed to elevate white supremacy and diminish diversity and acceptance. The strong emotional reactions and hurt that we continue to experience and hold as we unveil these ugly and painful realities are important and can be redirected to demand important change. Now, more than ever, we cannot stand still and turn a blind eye to these realities of systemic racism, inequality, and oppression.
We are running and walking to combat long standing institutional inequities by raising funds to support and uplift organizations that are doing critically important work to promote racial justice.
What can we do about it?
DONATE - By signing up for this Virtual Race you will be supporting 3 organizations actively working towards racial justice at the different stages, Violence In Boston, Helen Y. Davis Leadership Academy, and BU Center for Antiracist Research.
LEARN - Subscribe and listen to the Fitness in Color Podcast where we feature leaders in the community and highlight the intersection of running and racial justice work. Topics will include the history of these movements, what is being done today, and possible solutions for the future.
RUN - Join us virtually any day/time between September 25th - September 30th as we take steps and strides to dismantle the long and painful history of hatred, bigotry, and racism in the United States.
By supporting our Virtual 5K, your registration fee will contribute to the following:
- Fund and uplift our partner organizations that are doing critically important work to promote racial justice
- Amplify Black voices through the launch of the Fitness in Color podcast
- Launch PYNRS, a Black-owned Performance Streetwear brand with the focus on telling our own stories
