The "Test" Run

We are trying something new and want to use you as a test dummy!!! This "event" is completely free but your participation is really important to us.

So what are we trying out? We're glad you asked. With all the uncertainty in the running event world and with so many events changing to virtual events, we want to take our virtual events to the next level. The biggest complaint that we get about virtual events is that they aren't "competitive". And the biggest reason that they can't be competitive is because it is extremely difficult to "prove" that someone didn't cheat during their virtual event.

Well, our friends at Race Roster and the app RunKeeper may have just figured that out! With their new integration you can track your race automatically through the RunKeeper app and when you reach your distance (5K, 10K, Half Marathon - whatever distance the race is for) your time will be automatically uploaded to the event results page. So no more virtual runners saying they did a 10K and making up a time when they really only ran 2K!!

Obviously before we roll this out on a big scale we want to make sure it works. That is where you come in. Please register for the event (again it is completely free!!) and do the virtual event. When you register you should receive an email from Race Roster with instructions and a link that will take you to the RunKeeper app. If you don't already have an account with RunKeeper you will need to create one to participate.

The biggest thing we need from you - FEEDBACK!!! Was it easy to do once you registered? Did the app work during your run? Did the automatic download of your time work? Did this more "competitive" virtual make you more interested in running?
