VIRTUAL CHALLENGE from December 1 – 31, 2020
This virtual event is open to EVERYONE, it is not limited to girls/women only. In addition to the red, white, green and glittery silver finisher's medal you will receive a holiday themed race wrap / neck gaiter, super cute race bib and a face mask.
Sole Sisters wishes everyone tenderness for the past, courage for the present and hope for the future. That sentiment moved us so much that it is on the ribbon of the Sole Sisters December Virtual Challenge finisher medal. It felt like something we needed to say as we reflect on 2020. And do read below about why we are having this fundraiser.
*The first 350 registered receive this adorable custom face mask!* |

How do you earn your December Virtual Challenge swag? For the month of December we encourage you to be active. We want you to virtually walk, run or even cycle the race distances of 1K, 5K, 10K, 21K or 42K! You can do this in a single day or over all thirty one (31) days in December. This is a virtual event so you decide the best day, time and route for you. You can upload your race result here (just look in the upper left corner) but it is not required of you to show us a time. This is your race, to do your way. Remember, we believe in Virtual Finish Lines Not Finish Times. Perhaps you'll do it with some family members. We love races as Christmas presents!
On September 18th we listened to feed back and will mail kits early. This will not affect you if you register after September 25th instead you will be included in the mail out on Monday, November 16th. The first 350 registrants will receive the bonus unicorn face mask and we will take registrations until we reach our limit of 500.
We are trying to avoid any holiday delays in shipping for those that want to start December 1st. So, if you register after September 25th you'll get a race bib that you can personalize. Shipping is included if you live in Canada, if you do not, please make sure you select the international shipping category.
All the races are priced the same, so if you find yourself looking to do more than what you register for, do it! Don't hold back. But it works the same way, if you find life gets in the way. And you were registered for a longer distance, feel free to drop down to the distance that works for you! The only thing that matters to us?
Please make sure your virtual race registration includes your correct shipping address so you get your gear. And remember to BE THE INSPIRATION.

Why this fundraiser?!
This December Virtual Challenge is a fundraiser for our not-for-profit, Girls Gone Gazelle Run Club ("I don't chase boys, I pass them!") and a specific project we have planned for 2021. This spring despite the disappointments that came with Covid19, we virtually trained fifty-five (55) girls in Cape Breton, Dartmouth and Halifax. Many of those girls also trained with their mothers, fathers and brothers so we saw the impact of a virtual training program for the entire family.
Our goal is to generate revenue to redesign the Girls Gone Gazelle website to be interactive with virtual challenges to keep our girls (and their families) motivated and active while we navigate the world during Covid19. We do not know what sort of limitations to training will be in place for 2021 so we are looking to more fully develop the virtual aspect of our run/confidence club.
We are proud that our team of volunteers knows a lot about running fitness and inspiring confidence in young girls but we do not have the technical skills to do the work we need. If you have always wanted to volunteer and can do website design, back end technical work, photography or writing then please consider reaching out to us to help at info@girlsgonegazelle.com. And please know we want everyone's help. You do not need to be a professional. And if you know youth that have better skills than we do and are looking for projects to demonstrate their community impact this might be a fun project for them.
