OUR HISTORY
The first Sugar Run held in 2006 had 37 participants and raised $2,500.
Now, 14 years later, the Sugar Run has evolved with the help of faithful supporters like you! Over the years, we have maintained the feel of a family atmosphere by hosting a smaller sized event.
Two years ago we added a new division, the Elite Run, which showcases a top echelon of runners from around the country and allows for athletes to compete with others in their unique category.
The Sugar Run began 14 years ago to benefit JDRF's Fund a Cure where all money donated is used for diabetes mellitus research. In 2019, we had 277 participants and have donated over a quarter of a million dollars. Please join our family and commitment towards a world without type one diabetes #sugarrun5k
