2020 Sugar Run Elite-only 5k
This race is not open for the public and will only have a small number of invited professional distance runners
The Sugar Run 5K began 14 years ago and is a running event created to raise money to benefit the JDRF’s Fund a Cure where all donations and money raised is used for diabetes mellitus research. Over the years, we have donated over $250,000.00. In 2019, we had 277 participants including elite sections for men and women. With the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Sugar Run 5K will look different as we have had to make the Sugar Run 5K a virtual run. However, we will continue with the elite portion of the event with only a small field of elite women and men. We will follow precautionary guidelines to ensure the safety of our athletes, staff, and officials during the event which will include temperature checks and symptom surveys upon arrival to the race area.
