Greetings Everyone,
We know this Homecoming Season will be like no other we have experienced in our lifetime. We also know, Homecoming is more than football games, parties and reminiscing. At the center of all this goodness is the fact that Homecoming is the one and only time in a year where graduates and future graduates come together to celebrate the legacy of HBCUs.
With this in mind, we in the Atlanta HBCU community feel compelled to share and promote the legacy of HBCUs throughout Metro Atlanta by launching THE ATLANTA HBCU HOMECOMING MOVEMENT beginning October 1 through November 3, 2020. The Atlanta HBCU Homecoming Movement Campaign will have two components, The Cycle Revolution and Building Voter Awareness & Participation. For more details, please scroll down this page.
We hope you join us during this historic moment of celebrating, promoting and supporting our HBCUs while encouraging our community to exercise their civic duty that so many HBCU students, alumni and supporters fought for. May their legacies continue to live brightly through each us - The Movement continues.
With much HBCU Pride!
Dan Ford

What's THE HBCU HOMECOMING MOVEMENT ALL ABOUT?
The Atlanta HBCU Homecoming Movement Campaign will have two components:
The HBCU Cycle Revolution
Join us for a combination of fun, fitness, fundraising, competition and awareness as we celebrate and educate our community on the brilliant lives of HBCU alumni. Those legends who were pillars in the birth of the Student Movement forced open the doors to many of the liberties we enjoy today. We will raise money for our HBCUs, promote the continuation of an active lifestyle and of course have little competitive fun! To participate you just need a bike, register to join a team and commit to ride whatever amount of miles you are comfortable with between Oct 1st and Nov 3rd while encouraging your friends and alumni to support you by contributing $1 for each mile you commit. All proceeds raised will be donated to your organizational team’s 501c3. We are also recommending all participants and supporters of this campaign to wear their HBCU paraphernalia or any apparel that inspires voter awareness throughout the Homecoming campaign. If you are in need of gear to consider CLICK HERE. By the way, last point, we of course will be recognizing the organizational team with the bragging rights of collectively riding the most miles!
Voter Awareness & Participation
Our right to vote is a fundamental right we have as citizens of the United States of America. Our choice to exercise that right is up to us. In 2016 the African American community participation dropped dramatically with the biggest decline reflected in the HBCU community. As HBCU Alumni we are compelled to make sure we do all we can to prevent this from recurring in 2020 by providing resources and support to ensure everyone has the opportunity to exercise their right to vote. Because we know that every vote counts!
