Winners will receive pottery pieces created especially for the race by Hernando artisans

The Scott Fernandez Award & The Wendy Myers Award

This year Hernando lost two vital members of the team that started and managed the Hernando Water Tower 10K. Wendy Myers passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on January 3, 2019. Scott Fernandez died on April 27, 2019 after suffering a heart attack. In addition to doing anything that was necessary to hold a successful race, Scott laid out and marked the course and Wendy was in charge of the fabulous pottery award pieces.

Wendy and Scott were much-loved members of the Hernando community, and running and biking enthusiasts. We wish to honor them with a $250 cash award for the fastest female runner from Hernando (Wendy Myers Award) and a $250 cash award for the fastest male runner from Hernando (Scott Fernandez Award).

THE FIRST 425 FINISHERS WILL RECEIVE A COMMEMORATIVE FINISHER MEDAL!
