Welcome to the Great Australian Cross Country Challenge Finals - A culmination of the major virtual event GACCC, that saw thousands of people participate from right across Australia. This is an exclusive event by invitation only through your entry and qualification through the Great Australian Cross Country Championships.
Overview
THE GACCC NATIONAL FINAL CATEGORIES
Here’s your chance to produce your best performance of 2020, on race weekend. Medals and prizes are allocated in the following 21 categories, using the same distances as GACCC;
- 1km: Junior – Prep/kindergarten, Grade 1
- 2km: Primary – Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Grade 6
- 4km: Secondary – Grade 7, Grade 8, Grade 9, Grade 10, Grade 11, Grade 12
- 5km: Opens, 18-29years, 30 – 39, 40 – 49, 50 – 59, 60 – 69, 70 – 79, 80+
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
- Participate: you can run your event anywhere at anytime on September 5/6.
- Recording your result is simple and easy. Record you run or walk through any GPS application. Here at GACCC we recommend you Download the RunKeeper App
- Once you finish your run or walk , click here , submit your virtual result and you will be prompted to log into your race roster account
- Insert your time & Attach photo of evidence of your run/walk ( simply take a screenshot of your GPS application)
- Receive your finishers certificate and prizes.

CHAMPIONSHIP MEDALS
All Participants will receive a Great Australian Championship Medal as part of their entry.
Under the Age of 14?
STEPS FOR PARTICIPANTS UNDER THE AGE OF 14 YEARS
We value your health and safety whilst participating in this event. Hence, if you are under the age of 14, you must be registered by a Parent, Guardian or adult over the age of 18. To do this and register yourself successfully, please follow the below step with your parent, guardian or adult present:
- Create an account using your parent, guardian or adult’s email address. This is essential!
- Click on the Register Button and select your age category.
- When asked if you are completing this form for ‘Myself’ or ‘Someone Else’, please select ‘Someone Else’.
- Fill out the form with all your information, ensuring you select your School within the Teams Category and enter in your School Sports House!
- Follow the rest of the registration form and Submit your Registration!
- You’re all set to go 😊.
How It works?
Please note- you must have qualified to compete in this Championships. You should have received a unique email that allows you to enter the Championship.
REGISTER
- Please register through the 'Register' button on this page. A Parent/Guardian must accompany through the process if under the age of 14
- You will need to submit personal details and pay $20 which includes a complementary final championship medal
RUN
- Upon entry, further information will be emailed to you regarding the competition rules and other important event information
- Log back into your official timing smartphone app - RunKeeper
- Under supervision of guardian or PE teacher, participate in the relevant distance. You can use any digital device that currently exists in the market to record time/ distance
RECORD
- Student uploads proof of distance/time they recorded (see below for further Information)
- All participants are rewarded with virtual finishers certificate and medal
- At the completion of time period, each age group division is checked, and results verified. Results are displayed online throughout the process
- Top three & relevant teams are sent out official gold, silver and bronzes medals
You will need to complete your run on the weekend of the 5/6th September.
The Important Information
RULES AND VERIFICATION PROCESS
- Each persons under 14 must have parental permission through signing up to enter
- Each participant must run the nominated distance using the official app and send proof via online results in the events hub to ensure it is valid
- Gradients cannot exceed 50 meters in downhill through the overall distance of a participants run
- The finish location must not exceed more than 50% from the finish line (as a crow flies) of the total distance run i.e if you run 5km the finish cannot be more than 2.5 km away from the start
- Times for the top 10 from each individual division and age group as well as teams will be ratified by official administration who have discretion if they feel someone hasn’t followed the outlined procedure or process.
