IMPORTANT 2020 Race Information -- PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY!
- Registration & Packet Pickup:
- DEADLINE: All registrations must be ONLINE prior to Thur, Sept. 17 at midnight. We WILL accept in-person registrations on Friday, Sept. 18 from 1-7 p.m. but your shirt size will NOT be guaranteed.
- NO Race Day Registration allowed!
- Packet Pickup: Fri, Sept 18 from 1-7pm at the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce
- Packet Pickup: Sat, Sept 19 at 6:30am at the Packet Pickup Tent near the Finish Line.
- Start & Finish Area: All races begin and end in the Park Between The Bridges as pictured below.
- COVID-19 Alert: All participants will be required to maintain 6’ Social Distance, especially in Start area. There will be “X” marks on the pavement denoting where a participant is to stand prior to their start time. Participants are discouraged from walking or running in groups.
- Start Times
- 10k Run: 8:00am
- 5k Run: 8:10am
- 5k Walk: 8:15am
- 1 Mile Fun Run: 9:00am
- NOTE: 1 mile Fun Run will NOT be a “color run”, plus the Start Line is same as all other races.
- Chip Timing: Each participant’s time will be individually measured from the moment you cross the timing pad at the Start Line until you return and cross the Finish Line pad. NOTE: A participant’s time at the back of the Start area does not begin until they cross the Start Line, so there is no time disadvantage to be at the back of the pack in the Start area.
- Water Stations
- Water coolers provided in the Start/Finish area and at mile markers 1, 3 and 5.
- NO cups will be provided, so participants are advised to bring their own water bottle.
- Participants must hand sanitize BEFORE filling their water bottle.
- Hand sanitizer will be provided alongside water coolers.
- Post-Race
- Participants should move off course immediately after crossing Finish Line.
- Participants should wear face coverings after crossing Finish Line.
- Participants should refrain from physical contact with others and maintain 6’ Social Distance.
- Bottled drinks and individual To-Go burger & hot dog servings will be provided.
- Awards will be mailed to winners who choose not to stay for award presentation.
- COVID-19 Protocol
- Face Coverings: Participants are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings prior to start of their race AND while in Finish area after their race. All volunteers will wear face coverings and gloves.
- 6’ Social Distance: Participants should refrain from physical contact (handshakes, high fives, hugs, etc) and maintain 6’ social distance prior to, and after their race.
- ALERT: All participants who feel sick, are running a fever, or have other symptoms should STAY HOME and refrain from participation in the event. Those in a high-risk health group, please consult your physician prior to participating in the event.
- Parking:
- NO parking by race participants will be allowed in the Park Between The Bridges area.
- American Legion Post parking lot north of Park Between The Bridges area.
- Parking lot at northwest corner of Grand and Claiborne Ave.
- Bowie Realty parking lot on the southeast corner of Grand & Claiborne Ave.
- Leflore County Courthouse parking lot (across the bridge)
- North Greenwood Baptist Church parking lot (4 blocks from start area)
- Refunds:
- NO refunds available after Sept. 10 Deadline; prior to deadline, only partial refunds will be possible due to expenses incurred by event management.
- Goody bags will be mailed to those unable to participate after they have registered.
