8 Hours - 4 Runners - 1 Virtual Baton

Speedwerk is a virtual relay where teams of four runners compete to see how much distance they can cover as a relay team in 8 hours (7:30am - 3:30pm Pacific time on October 24, 2020)
Assemble a relay team, set your runner order, then run while passing a single virtual baton between your teammates.
Your team members can be located anywhere in the world. Any distance completed with the virtual baton gets added to your team total.
On race day a real-time leaderboard updates every time any team adds distance.
How it Works
1 - Assemble Your Crew
Put together a team of runners. Use the Virtual Baton app to manage your team, and set the order that you’ll run in.
When the race begins the first runner will get a notification telling them it’s time to run!
2 - Get to Werk
Run as far as you want! Upload your run to Strava, and use the Virtual Baton app to pass a virtual baton to the next runner on your team. They get a notification telling them that it’s time to get to werk!
Any distance completed with the baton gets added to your team total.
3 - Keep Werking
Once everyone has run, the virtual baton moves back to runner #1, and they run again to add more distance.
Keep passing the baton through your team to gain distance, move up the leaderboard, and compete for bragging rights/prizes.

Only the team captain needs to register. After you register you will receive a confirmation email with a team code that you can use to add runners to your team.
Winners
The team that completes the most distance during the race will be honoured with a place in the Speedwerk Hall of Champions.
Each team member will also receive:
- A custom victory hat
- A bottle of victory tequila
- Chocolate medals
- The knowledge that they are total badasses
Golden Podium Prize Pack
Every registered relay team will be entered into a random draw to win a spot on the Golden Podium. Each team member of the golden podium team will receive a special Speedwerk prize pack full of cool stuff including:
- A hat from Ciele Athletics
- Pair of Saucony running shoes
- Nuun Sport tablets
- Lottery tickets
- A chocolate medal

Prices are inclusive of mandatory charges, items, and fees
Relay Team Closed
Includes a relay team entry for a full team of up to four runners. Only the team captain needs to register. Do not add any additional team members when you register your team. You will receive a confirmation email with info on how to add team members after you register.
