Heroes Honor Challenge | ||||
The Heroes Honor Challenge is a workout consisting of a circuit that includes running, heavy carries and body-weight exercises. The goal is to give participants a challenge that they can do wherever they are without gym equipment. We suggest you have a backpack or rucksack that you can put some weight in or something heavy you can use for the heavy carry. Weighted vest are also permitted. The Challenge has three levels - Warrior (hardest), Patriot (harder) and Liberty (a little easier) depending on how much you want to push yourself. The different levels determine how many times you complete the circuit. The challenge was developed by Coach Adam Hettel and Coach Megan Bogden. Adam is an E-4, Ohio National Guardsman, with the 1-174th ADA in Marysville and serves as an Avenger Crew member. He is a Crossfit Level 1 coach at Crossfit Bexley and is currently attending Capital University in Columbus, Ohio majoring in exercise science. Megan served in the Ohio Army National Guard for eight years as a general mechanic. She has been a Crossfit coach for six years and is currently is a coach at Endeavor Crossfit. Megan believes that the intersection of the culture and standards of the U.S. Army mixed with Crossfit and functional fitness has had a wonderful effect on her as a person and coach and on her athletes. 2020 Heroes Honor Challenge - Movement Standards and WOD described below: |
What is a virtual Race or Challenge? |
A virtual race or challenge that can be completed from any location you choose. You get to run your own race or challenge, at your own pace, and time it yourself. And your bib, shirt, and finisher medal will be shipped directly to you. Choose your distance and start moving! It is a great way to be competitive with your family, friends, or co-workers without traveling to a race site. Complete the challenge on your own or with a group (remember to social distance). Center of Honor - United States Army |
The United States Army is the land warfare service branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. It is one of our uniformed services, and is designated as the Army of the United States in the U.S. Constitution. As the oldest and most senior branch of the U.S. military in order of precedence, the modern U.S. Army has its roots in the Continental Army, which was formed (14 June 1775) to fight the American Revolutionary War (1775–1783)—before the United States of America was established as a country. After the Revolutionary War, the Congress of the Confederation created the United States Army on 3 June 1784 to replace the disbanded Continental Army. The U.S. Army considers itself descended from the Continental Army, and considers its institutional inception to be the origin of that armed force in 1775.
The mission and purpose of the United States Army as defined by the U.S. code, Section 3062 is:
- Preserving the peace and security and providing for the defense of the United States, the Commonwealths and possessions and any areas occupied by the United States
- Supporting the national policies
- Implementing the national objectives
- Overcoming any nations responsible for aggressive acts that imperil the peace and security of the United States

About the National Veterans Memorial and Museum
More Than A Museum. A living tribute to over 40 million Americans who have served this nation since its founding.
It is time for America to remember and to honor its veterans, regardless of branch of service or era of conflict or peace. It is time to give a voice to every man and woman who has served, every mother and father who has lost a son or daughter, and every child who has lost a parent. It is time for the National Veterans Memorial and Museum (NVMM). There wasn’t a single, dedicated museum to the Veteran’s experience...until now.
America has a long, proud history of military service and volunteerism during wartime. Heroes such as General George Washington and Senator John H. Glenn are well documented on the national stage. But there are others – nearly countless in number – whose military experiences are known only to family, friends and descendants. NVMM preserves and shares these stories so that their sacrifices for freedom are remembered.
NVMM is the only place where the stories of our veterans, their families and the Fallen – across all branches of service and all eras of conflict – will be told together. NVMM bridges historical events to current concerns to strengthen understanding and respect between veterans and civilians. This cultural institution stands as a place of inspiration for all visitors to come together as one people with a common bond and shared pride in our veterans.
NVMM is neither a war memorial nor a military museum. NVMM takes visitors on a narrative journey telling individual stories and shared experiences of Veterans throughout history, paying tribute to the sacrifices of servicemen and women and their families. History is presented in a dynamic, participatory experience with photos, letters and personal effects, multi-media presentations, and interactive exhibits. Together, these elements link our national story to the larger context of world events since our country’s earliest days, and demonstrate the importance of individuals in shaping our history.
