18th Annual Turkey Trot

Dear Racers,

The YMCA has a long tradition of promoting youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. With that in mind, the Turkey Trot Race Committee is offering different options for this year’s race. As of now, we are still planning an in person event next Thursday. The committee has designed a new course and starting point so we can adhere to the current guidelines form Two Rivers Health department. This is subject to change based on guidance from the state and local Health Department. What do these changes look like?

● 250 cap on race participants

● Mask requirement at starting area

● Two mile loop course that allows us to have fewer volunteers

● No building access ( the YMCA will be open from 5 a.m.-8 a.m.)

● Porta Potties will be available outside

● Designated social distancing circles spaced six feet apart at starting area

● Rolling socially distanced start (groups will start every 5-10 seconds)

● No timing

● No medals

This year we hope everyone is running to run and running for fun!

For those who are not comfortable with taking part in a large outside gathering, we are now offering a “virtual” option. What does that mean?

● Runners can run 1-100 miles any time and place they want

● Run outside, in place, or on a treadmill

● Take a photo/video of you during or after the run/walk

● Tag or Text videos to the YMCA at these two numbers 308-627-7070 and 308-440-6235 ● Prizes will be awarded to the images that warm our hearts, make us laugh, or scratch our head.

ALL REGISTRANTS, REGARDLESS OF HOW THEY PARTICIPATE, WILL RECEIVE THEIR T-SHIRT. PACKET PICKUP IS WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 25th FROM 4:00PM - 6:30PM AT THE YMCA

The Kearney Family YMCA’s 18th Annual Turkey Trot

Thank you for participating or volunteering in our 18th Annual Turkey Trot! We are very grateful to have you here whether you are running, walking, or volunteering to help with this event. Thank you to all of our sponsors without whom this event wouldn’t be possible!

IMPORTANT RACE DAY REMINDERS

Parking: Limited parking available in the YMCA lot. Additional parking available at both the eFree Church & Presbyterian Church. Please DO NOT park on 7th St. as it is part of our course.

Route volunteers: You will see volunteers throughout the route. If you need any medical attention let a volunteer know and they will get a member of our medical team to you as soon as possible. *Important note: the race will be marked with orange arrows.

Water stops: Water and POWERADE will be available.

Bikes: We will have lead bikes and SAG bikes for the race.

Race start/finish: At the Kearney Family YMCA 4500 6th Ave

· 2 Mile Loop Race Starts at 9:00 AM

Covid-19 updates:

• MASKS REQUIRED BEFORE RACE, AT START LINE, AND AT FINISH.
• THIS YEAR IS A 2 MILE LOOP, FUN RUN. HOW MANY LOOPS CAN YOU DO IN ONE HOUR? 1 LOOP = 2 MILES — 5 LOOPS = 10 MILES
• YMCA FACILITY WILL BE CLOSED! PORTA POTTY'S WILL BE AVAILABLE.
• FUN RUN = NO CHIP TIMING. BE SURE TO BRING A WATCH! RACE START / FINISH WILL BE MOVED TO THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE PARKING LOT.
• NO GOBBLE WOBBLE– FAMILIES ARE WELCOME TO SIGN UP FOR THE 2 MILE LOOP
• NO RACE DAY REGISTRATIONS AVAILABLE
• NO PACKET PICK UP ON RACE DAY

Furry Friends & Strollers: We do kindly ask all runners with dogs or strollers to please start toward the back of the corral.
