Now more than ever, it is time to shift away from buying needless holiday gifts that often quickly pile up in our landfills, and instead enjoy experiences with family and friends, creating memories that last a lifetime and are part of a healthier life. Plastic Free Delaware and Zero Waste First State work to reduce single-use plastic in our culture and foster a “zero waste” approach to life where Reduce and Reuse are emphasized over Recycle and Refuse

Join us in our 2020 10k / 5K - VIRTUALLY! Out of an abundance of caution, we will forgo the in-person race for a virtual event this year but will hope to bring you a live run walk on Black Friday 2021. You can race anytime, anywhere from now to Black Friday November 27th at noon. All registrants will receive a cool grocery tote carry bag. Top times to be entered in drawing to win gift cards from REI, Dick’s Sporting Goods and more!”

How It Works

1. Register - Choose your event: 10k (6.2 miles) or 5K (3.1 miles)
2. Race - Walk or run ANY day from now to November 27th.Use a fitness watch or smartphone app to track your distance and time. Take a picture of your record.
3. Share - Submit your time and picture of your record. Submit your results. Share photos on Facebook and Instagram!
   
   

   Smartphone Apps

   There are many free apps that you can download and use to record your virtual results. Use one of these apps to track your run or walk. Or use your favorite app or smartwatch. Most importantly, don't forget to save your activity and upload your results!

Founded in 2011, we are a community-based organization focused on making Delaware a better, cleaner, healthier place by reducing the use of single use plastic and encouraging zero waste practices. With the help of our tireless volunteers, we provide educational programs, film screenings, discussions, special events, and undertake advocacy for policy changes at the state level and in local governments througout Delaware.

Share Your Results

1. Find your Race Roster registration receipt email and locate your confirmation number. (The email will be from Race Roster "therunner@raceroster.com")

2. Click "Submit a virtual result" on the results page.

3. Enter your name and the confirmation number from your receipt in the dialog box that appears. You will be prompted to enter the results of anyone you registered.

4. Enter your results. (If you registered multiple people, you will be able to submit their results now. Or you can come back later to post more results.)

5. Click submit once complete.

6. Print your finisher certificate
