The CMTR Winter Scavenger Hunt 2020
A Celebration of Movement, Training & Running
60 days, 20 challenges (no hidden challenges this time), and endless fun!
The Winter Scavenger Hunt begins on Dec 1st and runs until Jan 31st. Open to anyone, anywhere, as this is truly a worldwide event.
We're hoping to make your winter season just a little less rigid and frigid.
You can make this challenge as wild and social, as challenging and difficult as you'd like, OR you can keep it super low key and just use it to approach your winter fitness goals with some daily variety.
Open to runners, hikers and walkers worldwide. Our overall leaderboard does not reflect speed as much as a person’s dedication & creativity. Each unique challenge has a minimum run time associated with it, with most listed as a minimum 35 - 45 minutes, while the longest minimum workout time is just 60 mins. We've strived to design an overall challenge that is friendly and attainable by absolutely anyone and everyone. Completing the challenges awards you points, with the maximum number of attainable points being 1000.
This event is really about our online running community, giving back in a tangible way to underserved communities (CMTR Scholarship Fund and the Food Bank), and making the most of this ongoing pandemic and its unique effects on each of us individually.
Entry fees include a Winter Scavenger Hunt buff; a custom finisher medal…with an actual bottle opener, and of course an event sticker to proudly display on your favourite bumper, trailer, rooftop-box, coffee mug, or journal cover.
Each registered participant receives access to a custom-built online portal with a trophy case, a leaderboard and social tools for sharing your accomplishments via Strava, FB, Twitter and Instagram.
As with our Summer Scavenger Hunt, we’ll have a long list of prizes to distribute from many of our CMTR series sponsors. Draw prizes will be allotted via a mix of randomized draws, and standout submissions to each of the entirely unique challenges.
IMPORTANT: You will receive an email confirmation for your event registration from Race Roster right away, followed by a welcome email from us with a link and your unique access code to set up your profile on the Winter Scavenger Hunt site.
NOTE: All pricing is in CDN $. However, there are no geographic restrictions - you can register and participate from anywhere in the world!
