We can't meet and run in person but you can still START 2021 in the best way to put your foot forward.....
WANT TO RUN or WALK WITH US ON NEW YEARS EVE? Or Maybe try something more wintery like snowshoe challenges, skiing, skating or winter hiking?
Now you can do this anywhere in Canada, with a friend. At the stroke of Midnight like others have for the last 9 years.....and in 2020 pick any distance.
Join us to celebrate a unique and different virtual run that you can do anywhere across Canada at any time!. We want to give you a fresh new start by becoming a better version of yourself. Our main goal is to keep you motivated, moving and challenging yourself.
This year to celebrate the 10th anniversary we offer several options where you can choose the one that works better for you:
Run a 5k, 10k, half-marathon, or full marathon between December 21st and January 15th in the New Year. BONUS points if you do this right at Midnight on December 31st! (we'll also send you an extra Swag Item).
Run right into and through the new year, January 2021 and create a longer, more challenging distance / volume challenge that may not just be restricted to running. Maybe you are an avid ice skater and want to set yourself a goal of skating 4/week and achieving a high mileage target like 10,000 laps at the hockey rink? Or cross country skiers can do this too. What's the longest time you ever spent outdoors doing exercise?
30 days wellness challenge that includes:
- personal coaching and a weekly fitness challenge (this can change 4x through the month).
- Mentorship and Guidance from Peter Pimm, M.Sc., NCCP Level 4 Running Coach http://www.servicesforrunners.com) and Peter Donato, 5-time Boston Marathoner and long time Sport Nutrition and Wellness Devotee (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Donato)
- Take 15 minutes 4 days a week to do deep breathing, meditation, mindfulness, yoga, or anything that you wish! You can find a quiet place in your house, turn off the lights and your phone, and just close your eyes. You can also visualize positive things, future goals, or just relax your mind
- Since it is a 30 days retreat you can do more than running! You can include activities such as, skipping, skating, climbing stairs, and any other activities that you like.
- Interesting facts: you can burn 250 calories in an hour stairs workout or you can burn 280 calories in a 30 minutes skipping workout.
We want you to become physically and mentally healthier by adding these simple steps:
Try to drink 2 more glasses of water a day
Get a little more sleep: sleep 30 more minutes every day, or nap on the weekends (if possible)
Eat more fruit and vegetables: add 1 more fruit and 1 vegetable to your diet every day
Disconnect more with technology by turning your phones, tv, radios OFF and maybe adding a few books to the list?
Add some simple breathing and mindfulness routines throughout the day to calm your frayed nerves
