Hana to Haleakalā Virtual Team Run
Run from the comfort of ... wherever you are the world.... and watch your team move along the coast of Maui, to the top of the Haleakalā Volcano!
During the Hana to Haleakalā team challenge your team will have 18 days to work together and virtually run from the Maui airport, along the road to Hana, and up to the summit of the Haleakalā Volcano.
Start anytime after the challenge begins. Distance completed by anyone on the team at any time gets added to the team total!
Watch your team move along a map of the island, and zoom in to Google street view to see the sites as you work your way along the route!

How it Works
Get a team captain to register your team. The team captain will get an email giving them access to the Virtual Baton app. Use the app to invite runners to your team.
Your team members can be located anywhere in the world!
Run, walk, or hike as far as you want, add your activities to Strava, then use Virtual Baton App to add your distance to your team total.
Follow your team’s progress on the leaderboard and on a map to watch your team move around the island.
Complete the goal distance before the challenge ends to unlock special badges!

This challenge is available for free for RunGuides friends and partners. You will need a special code to register a team.
December can be a weird month. The sun sets way too early, and it can be easy to forget to take a break.
Before you know it you've ended your day in an anxious ball of “omg I didn’t go outside today, all I’ve done is email people, and why did I drink an entire french press of coffee!?!“
We created this event to help give you a fun excuse to get outside and move a bit!
Basic team entry includes:
- Entry for up to four runners
- Special Hana to Haleakala Challenge badges
- An 18 day real time virtual experience with with friends (possibly a bit less than a month if you run really fast…)
Only the team captain needs to register. After you register you will receive a confirmation email with a team code that you can use to add runners to your team.
