A 5k race to raise funds for mission work at home and abroad. People face challenges every day, be it finacially, physically, mentally, spiritually or with the battle against addictions. It is the mission of H2H 5k to help ease the burden of these daily challenges for people at home in our community and abroad in the community of Port au Prince, Haiti. The monies raised by this annual event assist in the financial requirement of providing relief to those facing such challenges. The H2H 5k course is a challenging course but totally doable. It's challenging by design. Challenge yourself for 5 kilometres while knowing that your challenge is helping elevate the most challenged.

The race begins at the main entrance to the Salt Marsh Trail. Participants will begin as a group and travel left down Bissett Road. This road race portion typically spaces out the racers so that when they hit the trail portion there is plenty of room for everyone. Once the racers reach the entrance to the Heritage Trail portion they turn left again and are greeted with beautiful scenery of a spring season just coming into bloom. The trails are well groomed and are of a crushed gravel consistency. There is a port a pottie and water stop at this entrance. Racers will run past the backside of the starting line where people will be cheering them on as they begin the last kilometer of the route. Once they leave the trail it's back to Bissett Road where it's literally all down hill to the finish! Don't forget to smile for the camera!

Making a Difference at Home and Abroad!
Giving a hand up, not a hand out.
At times, a hand out is the only thing that helps, but our mission is to give a hand up. Giving a hand out sustains you for the day where a hand up will sustain you for life.
Our mission is to raise funds for the Hillside Wesleyan Church Mission team to complete critical project work in Haiti. The team travels to two places in Haiti. The town of Babaco, in Port au Prince. As well, they also travel to the island of La Gonave. When our team is there, we bring supplies with us, but we also use the funds raised during this annual run to buy supplies in the towns we visit. We keep the money where it is intended.
We teach the men and women skills that empower them physically and mentally. We teach them skills that they can use to further their financial wellbeing at home so they can provide for themselves and their growing families.
Our mission doesn't stop there. To see what we do for our community at home, check the Hillside Wesleyan Church Website and choose "Mission" We also invite you to bring a Non-perishable item on race day. Every year we donate all unused race rations to St. Margarets House in Dartmouth and all non-perishable items go to the Demetrious Lane Foodbank also in Dartmouth.
Thank you so much for joining us! Our main focus is YOU. We want you to come out, enjoy the race, meet new friends and tap into your inner kid as you race your friends through the trails of the Salt Marsh Trail. We want you to be free. Feel free. You are free.
