Help Jennifer raise money

For participating in The 2021 ASICS Falmouth Road Race

My Story…

I am excited to announce that I will be participating in the 2021 Falmouth Road Race. I am a member of Tedy's Team and I am passionate about helping to raise awareness for stroke and heart disease.

This is very personal for me and my family, as I have watched my mom, dad, and most recently my brother, suffer from stroke and heart disease. In January of 2020, my mom suffered a stroke. Thanks to a fast-acting ER team at a local hospital, my mom's stroke was quickly diagnosed, and she was transferred into a Boston hospital that specializes in stroke treatment. After spending time in the ICU, my mom was then transferred to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston. This began a long journey of recovery with an incredible medical team that was absolutely instrumental in helping my mom gain back skills that were initially impaired from her stroke.

This past fall, my brother was diagnosed with heart failure at the age of 46. To see this happen with my brother so soon after my mom's stroke, was such a shock and time of uncertainty.  Once again our family rallied together to support my brother as his medical team determined how to treat his condition. My brother had a bypass procedure this past January. Following his procedure, he began a long road of recovery and is working hard to regain his health and strength.

My parents and brother are all in a much better place today due to the amazing medical care that they received. With my mom's stroke, my sister and I were able to identify the signs of a stroke to determine that she required immediate medical care.

Tedy's Team epitomizes the importance of awareness of stroke and heart disease, funding life-saving research, and in 2019 started a community outreach program called the Comeback Assistance Program.

My why:

To support my parents, brother, relatives, and all stroke and heart disease survivors.

To honor the memory of those who were lost to stroke and heart disease.

To help raise awareness, and in my own small way, to make a difference for this most important cause.

I look forward to this day and celebrating with my family when I finish this race!

Thank you for your support.
