My Story…
I am thrilled to be running my first ever Falmouth Road Race on behalf of Martha’s Vineyard Community Services!
Community Services does so much good for the island community. Where there is a need, Martha's Vineyard Community Services finds a solution. As a Psychology student, their programs reflect many of the things I am passionate about.
I joined the Development and Communications Team for the summer, and it is amazing to see all of the behind the scenes work that goes into sustaining all of the wonderful and diverse programs. I could not be more proud to participate in an event that benefits this organization.
I am running in memory of my grandfather, Douglas J. MacMaster Jr., who introduced me to the beautiful island of Martha’s Vineyard. My grandfather loved this island and the community at large. I know he would have been delighted to see me participate in an event to benefit the programs and services of MVCS.
My grandfather spearheaded my extended family’s involvement in participating in the annual Chilmark Road Race - #TeamMacMaster. Every year he would motivate our entire extended family's efforts in beating previous times or PRs. His motto was, “You Push Me, I’ll Push You”, which he embraced in many aspects of his life. I am currently recovering from knee surgery and will be pushing hard to complete this iconic seven-mile course -in any format- after months off from running.
I hope you will consider donating, and truly appreciate the support! Thank you!
