My Story…
Hi everyone! I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to run the Falmouth Road Race for Team BMC! I am even more excited that the race is in person this year!
For years and years I have ALWAYS said “ugh I hate running” or “I could never run [x] amount of miles”. However in 2019, I was able to prove myself (very) wrong by running my first marathon. Never in a million years did I ever think that was possible for me! I have realized anything is possible when you put your mind and the effort into it.
I even signed up to run the Chicago Marathon but due to the events of this past year, it was cancelled. It has been a long and difficult year for all. Working on the frontlines in the surgical ICU at BMC, then being diagnosed with COVID myself last April. After my battle with COVID, I still have some lingering effects. My physical and mental health have taken a toll. My lungs and body have never felt the same. COVID sent me into a spiral of anxiety and depression, which were feelings unknown to me. I will not let COVID define me or be an excuse for me.. I’m going to start training and find my love for running again and conquer the Falmouth road race. I have a goal to raise $750, but I’m hoping I can exceed those expectations. Please, I hope you will not only support me, but support a great organization and cause for Team BMC!
