My Story…
This year will be my second year running the Falmouth Road Race to raise money for the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts in honor of my aunt, a brain injury survivor.
In March of 2013 at the age of 56, my aunt suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm, and as is the case with many brain injuries, she will never be the same. The aneurysm affected her speech and caused paralysis to her right side, which restricts her mobility today.
I am running this race for brain injury survivors, like my aunt, who are unable to run themselves. I hope to raise awareness, as well as money, for the BIA-MA so that they can continue to help survivors and their families recover from these devastating injuries.
Many thanks for your support!
-Megan Irish, niece of brain injury survivor Patty McNamara
