Help Caitlin raise money

When I was diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes 16 years ago at the age of 11 I only thought of diabetes as a limiting disease. I never considered all the opportunities and wonderful people (nurses, doctors, other individuals with diabetes, people affected by diabetes) that having a chronic condition would afford me. Yet, I know I wouldn't have become the person I am today if it wasn't for this disease. To see how much I have accomplished and overcome in these 16 years has certainly inspired me to help those suffering from a similar situation. 

In May of 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, I finally graduated my second graduate program to become a pediatric nurse practitioner (thank-you mailman for handing me my diploma) and actually accepted what would be my dream job as a diabetes nurse educator at Tuft's Children's Hospital.  In my role I am now given the opportunity to give back to other children with diabetes, both type-1 and type-2, to help them recognize that having a chronic condition like diabetes doesn't have to define one's life.

I was honored to be selected to be apart of Tuft's Medical Center for this year's Falmouth Road Race. I would appreciate any donation to help me continue to better serve my patients here at the hospital. As we all know, COVID has had devastating effects on many individuals, and pediatric patients with prediabetes/diabetes certainly suffered due to lack of routine, school, access to exercise / good nutrition, and consistent healthcare. It is my hope that any bit of money raised for our pediatric population will continue to help these patient recover and promote a healthy, long life.
