My Story…
I dream of a day when girls of all ages can walk, run, or travel alone without the fear of being harassed, assaulted, or worse. That wasn’t the case for Vanessa who was senselessly killed in a random act of violence while she was on a walk in her hometown of Princeton, Massachusetts. The foundation named in her honor aims to empower women, teach them self-defense, promote gender equality, and reduce violence against women. I started fundraising for this amazing charity 4 years ago and it turned someone who never enjoyed running into an avid runner! This foundation is for all of the mothers, sisters, friends, and consummate power houses out there who deserve to live fear free!
Description
I am running the 2021 ASICS Falmouth Road Race. Please donate to help me raise funds for the Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation. The mission of the Foundation is to empower women to live boldly and fearlessly, and to reduce objectification and harassment. The Foundation advocates for empowerment, safety awareness, and gender equality. It furthers its mission by providing self-defense training and educational opportunities, and partnering with like-minded organizations to address the root causes of violence.
