My Story…
Her hair was purple that year.
I ran with a matching headband.
Purple sparkles, of course.
I spotted her right away as I hit the final stretch on Grand Ave. She was standing at the Finish Line — right in front — absolutely beaming.
That was our second year running the Falmouth Road Race. We didn’t know then but it would be our last together.
Stephanie hugged me so hard as I crossed the Finish Line. We raised more than $1,200 for the New England Lupus Foundation that year.
Last June, Steph finished her race, passing peacefully with her family and husband by her side.
But I’ll keep running. I’ll run a million miles for her.
This year, I’m back with the New England Lupus Foundation Team and it is my absolute honor to run the 2021 Falmouth Road Race for Steph.

The mission of the Lupus Foundation is to educate and support people with lupus, promote awareness and fund scientific research that will lead to better treatments and ultimately a cure.
