I've chosen to run the Falmouth Road Race this year in support of Martha's Vineyard Community Services because I truly believe in what MVCS is doing for this island we call home. MVCS has helped me personally in ways that are unquantifiable - and I know many other island residents who can say the same.
A little about me: My relationship with running has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride, with the biggest fall happening in my junior year of college when I quit the sport for good.
It took around five years and a lot of incredible people on Martha's Vineyard (Thank you Chris Edwards for dragging me to run club!) before I found myself falling back in love with the sport. Fast-forward a year and I've found the most amazing community to support me and give me life, weekly for long runs on Sunday mornings.
I hope to use this race as an opportunity to support an organization that has done so much to support me and to support this lovely island. I can't think of a better way to merge my rekindled passion for running with my love for this community.
