Help Jason raise money

For participating in The 2021 ASICS Falmouth Road Race

My Story…

I'm a service connected disabled veteran that served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1999-2003.  From 1999-2002 I served as an assistant fire team leader in 1st FAST Co 2nd Plt and participated in deployments to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and NSA Naples.  After my time in FAST I joined the Fleet Marine Force (FMF) and served as a gunner in 2/1 Wpns Co 81 mm mortar platoon.  I participated in combat operations in the Port of UMM Quasr, Az Zubayr, and Nasiriyah as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) with the 15th MEU (SOC) and BLT 2/1.

Transitioning out of the Marine Corps after being in months of sustained combat was not an easy tasks and one that I struggled with for a number of years before finally finding my way.   Over the years I have lost numerous friends to the battle that continues to be fought inside everyone one of us who has spent time down range and experienced the brutality of war.  Over the past year I have made it my mission to become more involved in the veteran community and do what I can to help give back and keep other veterans from becoming statistics.  I am active in my community in Milford, MA and am a member of our town's newly formed Veterans Advisory Council, DAV Lawrence J. Heron Chapter 6, VFW Post 1526, and the Italian American War Veterans of the U.S. Post 40.

I am running the Falmouth Road Race to honor all that have chosen to put on a uniform and serve this great nation of ours, especially the Marines of Battalion Landing Team 2/1 that fought alongside me during the spring and early summer of 2003 for the initial push into Iraq.  By joining the Heroes in Transition (HIT) team I hope to raise awareness and money to improve the transition process for returning OIF and OEF veterans so they don’t have struggle like me and my friends did.
