Over the past year and a half, I’ve dedicated a lot of time to improving my physical wellness and mental health–two aspects of my life I struggled with for a long time. Before a year ago, I was not a runner whatsoever, but that has recently changed! On August 15th, I’m running in the 2021 Falmouth Road Race for Team Calmer Choice. This is my first (hopefully of many) official road race and I’m super excited!
Calmer Choice is a non-profit organization that partners with schools and community organizations across Cape Cod to deliver a low-cost prevention program that equips children with a suite of skills to increase inner resilience, reduce the impact of stress manage emotional responses, and increase their sense of well-being. The mental health challenges young people currently face, especially in the wake of the pandemic, are complex and increasingly overwhelming. Calmer Choice helps these children develop lifelong skills and coping mechanisms so they can reach their fullest potentials and lead lives of compassion toward themselves and others.
I’m grateful for the chance to give back to the Cape Cod community and help support an organization that is doing so much good for young people. Please consider donating to this cause and help me reach my fundraising goal of $2,500. For more information about Calmer Choice, visit their website at www.calmerchoice.org
Thank you for your support!
