Supporting healthy oceans, sustainable fishing and strong coastal communities on Cape Cod.
Growing up in Maine with a lobster pound at the end of my driveway, I grew up around fisherman. Though my family were not lobstermen, I have been surrounded by the fishing industry and seen the huge impact they have had on small towns and local communities. I am excited to now help fundraise for my new local community for a non-profit founded by fisherman to continue their work advocating for the fishing industry and sustainable fishing on Cape Cod.
A generous donor has offered to match any donation made to Tarryn’s fundraising efforts.
Description
The Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen's Alliance engages the local fishing community in building lasting solutions to protect the ocean ecosystem and the future of Cape Cod's small-boat fishing fleet.
Founded in 1991 by the local fishing fleet, the Fishermen's Alliance is now a nationally-recognized nonprofit organization and the leading voice for commercial fishermen on Cape Cod.
A healthy marine environment and good fisheries management are essential to the success of Cape Cod's fishing economy. The Fishermen's Alliance is taking action now to make sure there will be future generations of fish and fishermen.
