My Story…
Hi!
Thanks so much for visiting my fundraising page. This charity is near and dear to my heart as I have been a patient at Joslin for over 10 years. Getting diagnosed at 12 years old, with this autoimmune disease was life changing and I am so lucky because SO much has changed since getting diagnosed. I went from pricking my fingers and injecting myself over 10 times a day to stay alive to now having a Dexcom that checks and alerts me on my blood sugars every 5 minutes and an insulin pump that makes automatic adjustments based on those blood sugars so I can remain in better control.
However, type one diabetes still remains a constant in my life. There’s not a single day or even hour that I don’t think about what my blood sugar is. Type one diabetes is an autoimmune disease. It is not caused by diet or my genetics. There was nothing I could do to prevent it and nothing I can do until a cure aside from fundraising for the next best research and technology!! Please consider donating to Joslin who is dedicated to giving their diabetic patients the best care and research to define the odds against diabetes!
Thank you!
