Supporting healthy oceans, sustainable fishing and strong coastal communities on Cape Cod.
I began working at the Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen's Alliance in July 2017. This August I will be running/walking 7 miles in the Falmouth Road Race to support the Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen's Alliance. Growing up in a local fishing family, I’m inspired to be working for and to support an organization that is dedicated to protecting the historic local fishing industry and marine environment which are integral to the character and lifestyle of Cape Cod.
Description
The Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen's Alliance engages the local fishing community in building lasting solutions to protect the ocean ecosystem and the future of Cape Cod's small-boat fishing fleet.
Founded in 1991 by the local fishing fleet, the Fishermen's Alliance is now a nationally-recognized nonprofit organization and the leading voice for commercial fishermen on Cape Cod.
A healthy marine environment and good fisheries management are essential to the success of Cape Cod's fishing economy. The Fishermen's Alliance is taking action now to make sure there will be future generations of fish and fishermen.
