Help Colby raise money

I am excited to be running the Falmouth Road Race on August 15th for Soccer Without Borders (“SWB”), which is a non-profit that uses soccer as a way to positively impact the lives of newcomer immigrant, refugee, and asylee youth. I am so excited to be running the race in-person this year after participating virtually last year.

As most of you know, soccer has always been a huge part of my life. Growing up playing soccer competitively and at UVM, I was fortunate enough to travel all over the country and create memories with teammates who became lifelong friends. I will always be grateful for the opportunities and experiences that were provided to me through soccer.

When I moved to Boston after college, I knew I wanted to get involved in the community and coach to try and give back to the sport that gave so much to me. I was connected to SWB Boston which runs programming for underserved youth in the East Boston area and got involved as a volunteer coach for the 4th & 5th grade girls.

SWB’s efforts help break down the economic barriers to being part of organized sports by providing high-quality programming, free of cost to participants.  SWB participants gain access to experiences and opportunities they otherwise would not benefit from, including educational support, team-building activities, civic engagement, and cultural exchange. SWB provides the equipment, coaching and transportation to help participants develop their soccer skills and participate in practices and games. Additionally, SWB provides academic and language support alongside the soccer programming.
