My Story…
It is that time of year again - the Falmouth Road Race. It is live and in person this year and I could not be more excited. Another year to run a great race, but more importantly to raise money and awareness for Cure SMA. It is my run for Kate! This sweet bundle of courage has SMA type 1 (spinal muscular atrophy).Normally children with this diagnosis die before they are toddlers but with the advancement in gene replacement therapies and other treatment kids like Kate are crushing the odds. She makes me laugh every day with her love of Phil Collins, dance parties and the Disney show Bluey. By the way, Kate prefers to be called Bingo! If you are a fan of Bluey that is sure to bring a smile. She and my daughter have become the best of friends doing typical little girl things like giggling and splashing in the pool. This is something that may not have been possible two years ago without the efforts of Cure SMA
The funds I raise with your help with further the research into drug therapies as well as support for families like Kate in the form of equipment and advocacy. Everyday is a fight for Kate but with that fight comes daily victories in the form of a giggle, a joke or a dance party. Kate is Living her best life and I am honored to be a small part of that life. So please help me in giving a donation to help support Cure SMA
