Our Story
I will be running in the Falmouth road race this year in support of the amazing organization, Live4Evan. In 2019 my cousin was born with congenital heart disease and Live4Evan provided his parents with housing so that they were able to be with their son during his surgeries and lengthy stay at the hospital. Live4Evan was able to relieve part of that financial stress for his parents and I know it means the world to them.
“Boston is home to multiple world-class medical institutions who lead the field in treating heart abnormalities in children. For this reason, thousands of families travel to Boston each year seeking critical medical care for their child at Boston Children’s Hospital and Tufts Floating Hospital. With the average price of a hotel in Boston costing nearly $300 per night, families risk extreme financial burden while trying to save their child’s life.
At Live4Evan, we believe that parents shouldn’t have to choose between putting food on the table and being by their child’s side while they undergo heart surgeries and other serious medical treatments. For this reason, we provide temporary housing to families who need to travel into the Boston area to treat their child with congenital heart disease.”
