NEWS FLASH - MAY 15, 2021
It's a GO! The DPRT Races will be run on Sunday, October 17, 2021. Registration to open May 31st.
Welcome to the 11th running of the DPR Trail Half-Marathon, Marathon and 50 Mile Ultra Marathon along the beautiful and fast Des Plaines River Trail in Lake County, Illinois. This is a truly special running course. The DPR Trail is a wide, crushed gravel track, free of roots and rocks, and very flat. All of the major road crossings are managed by way of bridges or viaducts (with only 4 minor road crossings along the whole 50 Mile course, 2 on the Marathon course, and none for the Half-Marathon course). This is a great track through alternating lush forests and open wetlands. With cool temperatures expected, and given the flat terrain and ideal running surface, you'll find these to be extremely fast courses. It is a trail race so depending on weather conditions you may experience water on parts of the course. The Marathon is a BOSTON QUALIFIER. Come out and join us for a great run!

Transfers and Deferrals
Transfer Policy:
Up thru October 10th you will be allowed to transfer from one race to another or to transfer your registration to someone else. NO EXCEPTIONS, THE DEADLINE IS MIDNIGHT OCTOBER 10TH.
Cost: For race category changes it's $10 plus the difference in price for the race you originally registered for and the new race you are transferring to. We do not offer refunds if the race you initially registered for is more expensive than the race you are transferring to. If a race has reached capacity, no transfers into that race will be permitted.
For transfers to another individual, that person will pay the registration price you originally paid plus the $10 transfer fee. It is up to the person transferring their entry to get paid back the original entry fee from the person receiving the transfer. Runners can log into Race Roster to facilitate the transfer. Call Race Roster 855-969-5515 for assistance. Please do not contact the race organizers to facilitate this.
"No Sweat" Deferral Policy:
At anytime up thru October 10th you can defer your race entry to next year only. This is a one year deferral. Cost: $25. Deferrals shall forfeit any race swag for current year. We will not accept deferral requests after October 10th. Just contact the race directors by October 10th to defer your entry to next year. NO EXCEPTIONS, THE DEADLINE IS MIDNIGHT OCTOBER 10TH.
Send an email to info@runners4wellness.com if you are requesting to defer. We will confirm with you and you should be okay.
Refunds
Refunds: THERE ARE NO REFUNDS, NO EXCEPTIONS! However, you can defer or transfer your entry thru October 10, 2021.
This is a Trail Race
This is a trail race which is run along the Des Plaines River. Being a trail race you may experience conditions that are different from other races you have run. This includes the possibility of river flooding which may cause the race organizers to alter the original course or conditions may force the runners to run thru water. Yes, your shoes will probably get dirty and if it rains or parts of the course flood, you will run thru water.
Cupless Race
Each year we go thru approximately 5,000 cups and in an effort to be more "green" this year DPRT will become a cupless race so you need to carry a hand-held or a hydration pack.
