Raise money for Transplant Community Alliance
Transplant Community Alliance is a local nonprofit that provides free support services to organ transplant recipients, families, caregivers and patients on the waitlist. Our purpose is to provide economic, educational, social, and psychological assistance to achieve successful outcomes for patients receiving a life-saving transplant..
The Living Assistance Program provides assistance to solid organ transplant patients in Arizona that need help with basic living expenses and expenses associated with transplant, helps with medications and co-pays, and offers expert advice about insurance and reimbursement claims.
We provide financial aid to organ transplant recipients to reduce stress during the difficult medical procedure of transplantation. We closely collaborate with transplant social workers and coordinators at each center to determine patients experiencing financial hardship. We assist patients with basic living necessities like housing, utilities, medication and transportation to the treatment facilities. We make the payments directly to the service provider, lender or landlord or pharmacy. This program was established in 2009 for medication only and in 2018, it was expanded to include basic living expenses. We saw heartbreaking need as patients struggled with finances not covered by insurance. In 2018, we provided over $50,000 in assistance to 82 patients that received an organ transplant from Mayo Clinic, Banner University Medical Center, Dignity Health and Phoenix Children's Hospital. The requests are increasing every month.
