Everyone has the right to be well. We know that movement and mindfulness have the power to support mental, physical and social wellbeing. Yet, systemic inequities restrict access and not everyone feels represented or welcome.
Here to Be is our social impact program. Together with our partners in the program, we disrupt inequity through movement, mindfulness, and advocacy. Since 2016, Here to Be has granted US$18 million and partnered with over 650 organizations to support more than 1 million people across the globe, helping them to connect to their own ways of being well.
Through Here to Be, we'll be making equal contributions to the organizations listed below. All US$5.00 from every registration will support their work and communities.
- Back on My Feet combats homelessness through the power of fitness, community support, and essential employment and housing resources. Back on My Feet uses running and walking, but more importantly, community, to motivate and support individuals every step of the way from homelessness to independence. Success is measured not only by the health impact of miles moved, but also by how many individuals gain access to education, employment, and housing. They empower people to achieve what once seemed impossible, through the seemingly simple act of putting one foot in front of the other.
- Black Men Run encourages health and wellness among African American men by promoting a culture of running/jogging to stay fit resulting in “A Healthy Brotherhood.” Black Men Run supports a wide range of abilities and is open to everyone. From first timers to advanced runners, they strive to promote increased fitness and change the alarming health trends Black men face.
- Girls on the Run is based in Charlotte, N.C., with local Councils in all 50 states. Founded in 1996 with 13 girls, Girls on the Run has now served more than 2 million girls. Over the course of the program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.
