Kansas City's premier triathlon event kicks off the season with Olympic, Sprint and Relay distance options as well as a Sprint Duathlon.
The Sprint distance course includes a 500 meter swim in Longview Lake, 20K bike course along the scenic roads around Longview College and finishes with a 5K run through the trail system of Longview Lake. The Olympic distance consists of a 1.5K swim, 40K bike, and 10K run.
We have high hopes that the Kansas City Triathlon will proceed as planned on May 16, 2021. However, we are monitoring the current COVID-19 situation closely and will abide by any public gathering restrictions as implemented by the state of Missouri, Jackson County or Kansas City, MO. Should this result in necessary changes to the event, we will be in contact with any information including postponement, location changes and/or cancellation.
Participate Virtually: Complete the Kansas City Triathlon on your own time and along your own course. The cost for the virtual race is $40 (for all distance options) and your finisher medal and participant shirt will be mailed to you directly. If you do not have access to a pool, lake or other body of water, simply supplement your swim with a cross training exercise of your choice, completing it using your estimated swim finish time. Recruit some friends, encourage them to register for the virtual event and complete the race together! Registration for the virtual race will remain open through May 16.
