Whether you're running on your birthday, running to support a friend or running to celebrate your 2021 birthday, run to support Make-A-Wish®.
We are excited to offer participants the ability to track their run wth the Runkeeper app. Choose your own route for your race and run anytime within 2021. You'll be awarded with a personalized finisher certificate once you complete the race! Did we mention there's also optional swag available for purchase?!

What is the 2021 Virtual Birthday Run all about?
The idea originated to support people on their birthdays during quarantine in 2020. With this, the Virtual Birthday Run is back for 2021 supporting Make-A-Wish Canada again! Let's celebrate together while supporting a great cause!
How do I participate in this virtual event?
Register for the virtual event and run your 5K, 10K or Half Marathon distance on a route of your choice on your birthday (or a friend/family members birthday!). You will track the time and distance of your race virtually using the Runkeeper app. More instructions will follow to ensue you are setup to have a seamless virtual run experience.
When is race day?
Race day is 100% unique to you and your special day or the friend/family member's birthday that you're supporting. On race day, choose the route and track your race. You will, however have until the end of the year, December, 31st 2021, to complete your race.
Who is this event supporting?
This event supports Make-A-Wish® Canada who creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Thanks to community support they provide children with life-threatening illnesses the opportunity to make wishes, providing them with strength and resilience to endure their treatments.
How do I fundraise?
Once you're registered for the event, you will automatically be setup with a fundraising page. This page can be customized to your liking - including your story, photos, and even your fundraising goal. The next step is to share your fundraising page with friends and family members to reach your goal!
Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?
Donations of $20.00 or more will be eligible for a tax receipt. Please note that this is not inclusive of the processing fee. Your tax receipt will be provided to you by Make-A-Wish Canada upon the completion of the event or after December 31st, 2021.
When will I get my merchandise?
We estimate that you will receive any merchandise ordered about two weeks after registration. If you have any questions please email us at runforbirthdays@gmail.com.
