My Story…
The Canadian Cancer Society is an organization close to my heart which is why I fundraise for them annually. We all have personal connections to cancer and I am no different. In 2002, my Papa passed away from prostate cancer. After my Papa passed away, my dad requested that he start getting regular PSA testing. It was because of this process that my Dad’s cancer was detected early in September 2011. Many years later and cancer is still a part of my dad's life. Although I am grateful that I can report he is currently healthy and happy, he will likely live with prostate cancer for the rest of his life. For these reasons and many more, my goal is to have a tiny part in finding a cure by raising money for this reputable organization. I’m running for my Dad and his Dad and for everyone affected by cancer. I have raised over $1000 annually since 2017, and I hope that I can do the same in 2021!
I would be grateful if you want to help me reach my goal, however, I know there are endless good causes and it's impossible to support them all so there is absolutely no pressure to donate. I also know the pandemic has been financially challenging for many people and the last thing I would want to do is make anyone feel pressured.
I hope to be able to wear my bunny ears again in 2022, but in the meantime, I am happy to have a virtual race to motivate me!!
Wishing you safe and happy 2021,
Kendra
