My Story…

Thanks for clicking the link and taking the time to look at this!! My brother Marcus and I have been hard at work both training for this run and overhauling the CC4Africa website these past few months (www.cc4africa.ca, go check it out to learn more about the organization!)

This whole pandemic thing has us all going a little stir crazy, so much so that it finally got me out running again. Yes, in the dead of winter, I decided pulling on my beat up running shoes and freezing my butt off was a better alternative than binge watching whatever content Bob Iger is pushing out these days. After the initial shock, I started enjoying the chance to get outside and push myself more than I thought I would. Seeing how much I was enjoying myself, Marcus joined me and set up this whole fundraising event for the charity our grandmother co-founded, CC4Africa. My family's been heavily involved with the charity since it was established, so I'm excited to get more involved with this generation of Corboulds!

My original plan was to run a full marathon this May, but an unfortunate foot injury halted my training for about a month. I'm back to running now, but will have to do a half-marathon instead. Next year, however, I've got big plans in store...

I will be matching all donations on my page, so go wild!!

Description

We are the sole funders for about 80 boys and girls who were previously street-living in Gitega, Burundi. Every dollar that we raise will go towards school supplies, uniforms, nutritional meals and activities for the children ($5,500 CAD per semester).
