Our story…
This sweet little warrior and her family (Rachel, Rob and Rylee) inspired and moved not only individuals in the Ottawa and surrounding communities but an international community around the world. Almost 1 million people follow Tessa’s and the Hodgson’s family’s journey on the social media platform TikTok (@fightingforbabytessa) and almost 30,000 on the families Instagram.
This little warrior hung up her superhero cape and traded it in for angel wings on November 21, 2020 after a courageous battle with Cancer (ATRT) at just 15 months.
Join our team in this year’s Ottawa Race Weekend (and for years to come!) to show support to the entire Hodgson family and to continue to show Tessa how much her courage, determination, smile, and little giggles won us all over (for years to come!)
Tessa’s Army will continue to keep her light bright by raising funds for CHEO (The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario) who were a significant resource to Tessa and her family during her journey. Choose to fundraise individually by creating your own page or share the general “Tessa’s Army” link with your networks. There are various walks and runs to sign up for that accommodate people of various fitness levels, including a 2k walk for families. Register anytime and start fundraising! You will have between May 1 and 31 to complete your race!
As 2021 will be virtual, we hope to have some team members from outside the Ottawa area! You can direct any questions you might have to the Race Captain. Tessa’s Army will be in touch with more details as they develop and keep everyone posted on any post walk/run celebrations (Covid-19 depending).
