Michael was diagnosed with embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma the summer of 2017. We were told he had stage 4 cancer the day after he played a travel soccer game. After many rounds of chemo and 28 rounds of radiation we were told the cancer was gone. No evidence of disease. He continued with chemotherapy for another year while attending high school. January 27th 2020, we celebrated Michael’s last round of chemo.

Only 2 weeks later our world would shatter once again. Michael had a tumour in his abdomen. He had surgery in attempt to remove it but was unsuccessful and caused him to end up having another surgery only a week later for a bowel obstruction. With a palliative diagnosis, Michael bravely decided to go home and live the rest of his life as happy and normal as possible. Michael passed away at home June 14, 2020 with his family, girlfriend and friends beside him. 

Michael loved school and excelled at everything he did, making principal’s honour roll even during treatment. He loved his girlfriend Ella. He loved soccer, shoes and playing online with his friends. We remember and miss him everyday. We will love him forever.
