I Love Coffee 5k Road Run

Here are the FYIs for I Love Coffee 5k race:

-Race is held at Hawthorne Park 500 Ackerman Drive Porter, Indiana 46304

-NO RACE DAY SIGN UPS online sign ups end on Friday January 22 at 8:00 am

-Race has staggered start times in 10-minute segments beginning at 9:00 am. You will be assigned a start time window and it will be email to you on Friday evening and posted on the Facebook event page.

-On Saturday January 23rd from 9:00 am-11:00 am I will be outside in front of the community at Hawthorne Park if you like to pick up your packet. You will NOT receive your bib until race day. You are also welcomed to pick up packet for your friends and family if you wish. If there are extra t-shirts and mugs available, I will be selling those on Saturday for $10. Please bring exact amount or write a check if you like to purchase something.

-On race day you will enter the community center a little before your start window to be temperature checked and fill out a questionnaire. After completing those procedures, you will receive your bib. You can also get your packet if you did not get it on Saturday.

-The race is chipped timed by our friends Tempo Run Timing. They are new timing company in the area please support them https://www.temporuntiming.com/

-Runners must follow all CDC safe distancing guidelines.

-Runners must be in good health and symptom free from any illness for at least 2 weeks prior to the event.

-Runners passing one another on the course must be no closer than 10 feet behind or in front of, or 6 feet beside other competitors at any time.

-Runners may pass only when there are not any oncoming runners approaching from the opposite direction.

-The course is on town streets and the pavement bike trail. The is no aid on the course if you need water/Gatorade please carry your own.

-Runners are required to wear masks for pre/post races activities. There is will NOT be an awards ceremony. If you win overall male/female or top three in your age group I will mail your medals to you. We will be raffling off some Deathwish items you get one raffle ticket with your registration. You can purchase additional tickets for $1. I plan on doing the raffle after all waves have started and you can check your tickets once you complete the race.

-Pre-packaged snacks, Deathwish coffee, water and Gatorade will be available outside of the community center after you finish. Please practice social distancing and hand sanitizer will be available in all areas.

-After completing the race, you are welcome to grab snacks plus DW coffee of course and sit in the community center. Please do not stay too long as we are limited to 25 people total in the community center at a time.

Get your 2021 off right by running through the street of the Town of Porter, Indiana. I have rented Hawthorne Park Community Center so we will be inside for sign ups, packet pick up, post race food and award ceremony. Coffee is the name of the game and that means Deathwish Coffee the "Strongest Coffee in the World" of course https://www.deathwishcoffee.com/. We will have Deathwish Coffee brewing and some snack as well. We will have a raffle which includes Deathwish Coffee items. Time to be #fueledbydeath. Entry fee include one raffle ticket and t-shirt. Coffee mugs are also available for additional fee.
