Welcome Back to 2021!
We are delighted to announce our 11th Annual Rogers Insurance Run for L'Arche Event, will take place on Saturday 27th March 2021!
For those who have been on the journey with us, or are new to our important fund raising event, Rogers Insurance helped found a mixed Run/Walk Event in 2011 in conjunction with Economical Insurance our "Presenting Sponsor" since inception, and continues to coordinate and lead the Race, in one of the most popular early spring season events on the Calgary Running Calendar.
To date, you have helped raise $500,000 for L'Arche Calgary programs to support people with developmental disabilities.
Here in Calgary, L'Arche supports five homes, a Supported Independent Living Program, and a Tamarak Day Program. L'Arche Calgary creates a community with over 100 people, including 33 core members with disabilities.
L'Arche Calgary is partnered with 30 Homes across Canada, and is part of serving 153 Communities and 21 Community Programs, in 38 Countries on 5 Continents.
Event News!
Traditionally we have provided Certified Half Marathon, 10km & 5Km Distances, here on the City of Calgary Pathways System, not forgetting our 1Km Fun Snowman's Run and Obstacle Course.
Covid-19 has impacted all aspects of our lives and events, including our upcoming 2021 Event format, which will be offered, subject to all City of Calgary & Alberta Health Guidelines in place and obviously may be subject to change.
Our Runners Experience Coordinator will be available for all questions or concerns.
We are offering several options for you to participate.
Venue Facilities & On-Course Details Update!
We are pleased to advised that our In-Person Event Venue will held be on St. Patrick's Island courtesy of the Calgary Municipal Land Corporation at Confluence Plaza.
Paid Parking is available and has been updated as part of the Zoo & St. Patrick's Island 2013 flood rehab at the east end. Zoo members may park free? bridges connect the island park to both the East Village to the south and Bridgeland to the north.
Washrooms will be provided at the Venue for Event Participants only.
Covid-19 has impacted all our lives and that also impacts our Event and in particular our Venue Site, we have engaged a most experienced Event Team which includes a Covid-19 Protocols & Guidelines Coordinator who is working with both the City of Calgary and Alberta Health Services to ensure we meet all directions** as set out and keep all our participants and volunteers Safe!
Traditional facilities and services are for this event will be severely restricted to and include:
1 un-manned table with pre-disinfected spaced individual bottles of water will be provided at the Venue and 10Km - Half way Turn-a-Round locations only,
We are providing an EMT Service with access to transportation at our Venue, plus we will have an On-Course Cyclist with First-Aid Kit for each Route.
Health Canada approved Hand Sanitizer & Hard Surface Disinfectant Products will be in place, noting all Volunteers will be wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment provided by our Event.
IMPORTANT! - No Event Day Late Registration Service Available.
#1 In Person Event - 10Km & 5Km.
Currently we are permitted to offer 2 Distances with a restricted total maximum registration of #200 Participants.
In-Person Event Restrictions** will include separate Start/Finish Line Areas for both the 10Km and 5Km Distances, plus both routes are completely separated.
We will provide links showing full details for both the 10Km and 5Km Distance Routes taking place on the City of Calgary Pathways, which will go in separate directions to meet Covid-19 Protocols.
Whilst these 2 Distances are not Certified for this years Event, both distances will be chipped timed.
We will be providing full City of Calgary & Alberta Health Services** Covid-19 Protocols and Guidelines for all participants.

We can provide City of Calgary Pathway Route Options, Formats, location[s] and date[s] options we leave to our creative participants!

#3 Virtual Fun Run - Snowman 1Km Fun Run
This Virtual event is perfect for the L'Arche Community, or runners of all ages.
Runners in the Snowman 1Km will receive a Medal and printable downloadable Race Bib and Finishers Certificate as needed.
We are pleased to advise that L'Arche Edmonton, L'Arche Lethbridge & L'Arche Saskatoon Communities will be participating in our Event!
Out of Town/Province Requests for Mail Out Service will be provided for an additional fee of $5.00. [International Postage Rates will apply.]

Best of all they will be guiding you through the complete step by step process for the Virtual Event to ensure your best
experience ever! Plus will provide Printable Bibs and Finishing Certificates for both In-Person & Virtual Events as applicable.
Event Overview.
We welcome all levels of runners, walkers and rollers, [No pets allowed on the In-Person Event] and please note there will be very limited on-course services.
We are only providing a Finishing Medal for all Participants - In Person & Virtual - for our event, and will return to Top Placement Times, Age Categories, Teams & Insurance Industry Awards in the future,
All participants will receive a Race Kit-Bag consisting of a Crested Lunch Bag, Mask, Finishing Medal, Bib and post event, a Printable Finishers Certificate.

We are most pleased to announce that we have extended our Run the Double Offer to participate to include our 3 Virtual Distances of Half Marathon, 10Km & 5Km
this will now meet the Original St. Patrick's Day Road Race Event which has now pivoted to an all Virtual Event!
Raise - $250 in donations and we will credit you your registration fee in return.

Event Volunteer Opportunities.
In past years you, our 200 plus core supporters have enabled to ensure all our Event successes.
This year we are needing fewer positions for the In-Person Event Day - Saturday March 27, 2021 and will include:
Most important as always - Course Marshalls for both Routes for each of our 20 Locations covering both routes.
Event Venue we need Greeters - 2 [Covid-19 Monitor Role]
Race-Kit Pick Up at Strides - 2
Plus 1 more On-Course Cyclist!
New Position - Ambassadors!
A new approach for us - even if you are not a runner and can't make it to volunteer we still need your vital support,
Consider registering as an Ambassador- individual donations make a difference, you can support a participant or build a team of fund raisers.
We will be drawing for great prizes to recognize the various results be they large or small. Every dollar counts!
Our Ambassador & Social Media Coordinator will support you every step of the way.
