From the first day of winter to the last,
Winter Moves is your answer to staying active, connected and healthy.
Run, walk, hike, fat tire bike, snowshoe, cross country, skate and downhill ski your way right into Spring, all while supporting the Canadian Mental Health Association - Calgary Region.
These times are testing many aspects of our lives; so with that in mind Run Calgary has created the Winter Moves Challenge to get us through the next 3 months of winter by staying active and connected.
This isn't about how far you can go or how hard you can push yourself, the intention behind Winter Moves is to get you out to enjoy our winter wonderland, all while keeping your body and mind healthy.
The challenge is simple.
Breathe in fresh air
Try new ways to move
Connect with others outdoors in ways that are safe
Commit to working on your mental health as well as taking care of your body
Fall in love with winter
Nature, movement, connection and fresh air are key ingredients to a healthy and happy life.
Join us in this 3-month movement challenge and commit to the prescribed 5 hours a week of outdoor activity.
Join other winter warriors and be accountable to this awesome community as we fall in love with the beauty of winter.
Together, we will move our way through the coldest and darkest days of the year, share the joy and many benefits of movement, including the positive impact it has on our mental health.
Let's encourage one another to try new ways to sweat in the snow and celebrate all the wonderfulness that is winter.
The only challenge you need this winter works out to $40/month or $1.38/day. Let's get moving!
