Chinese New Year 5K/10K Run/Walk

Virtual Run: February 12th - March 7th, 2021
2020 has changed the way we live and play. The Chinatown YMCA has adapted to the changes and stepped up even further to help those in need. That’s why we are moving our 43rd Annual CCHP Chinese New Year Run into the virtual world and inviting our friends and partners from across the globe to participate. Funds raised from this event will help address crucial deficits in our community by:
- Bridging the digital divide for our youth, families and seniors whilst the world has moved online without them
- Helping to put healthy foods at the tables of low-income families
- Supporting virtual academic and enrichment learning for youth from homes without internet or parents who do not speak English
- Social isolation and loneliness in older adults living alone or away from family
We hope to virtually see you at the finish line this year!

Race Overview & Registration Options
RACE OVERVIEW:
Participants in the virtual 5k/10k will have 3 weeks to complete and submit their results through the RunKeeper App. The date range to submit results is February 12th – March 7th, 2021. Direction on how to submit results will be provided via email upon registration.
REFUNDS:
There are no refunds for this event.

BIB/TSHIRT PICK UP:
To ensure we do our part to encourage social distancing and adhere to public health recommendations, we are shipping out all run packages. There will not be in person bib pick up this year. We will begin sending packages out the first week of February.

Course Overview & Suggested Routes
COURSE OVERVIEW:
We have suggested 5k and 10k routes below. You can choose to run one of those provided or you can choose your own course that totals the necessary miles (5k = 3.107 miles or 10k = 6.214)

Tracking Your Virtual Run & Submitting Results
Below you’ll find detailed instructions and FAQs on how to track your participation and submit your results:
Step 1: You may complete your virtual run at the time and location of your choice between February 12th - March 7th. You can choose to log your performance on a tracking app/device of your choice (i.e. Strava, RunKeeper, MapMyRun, etc.) or just set a timer.
*Note: if you have the Run Keeper app, you can automatically sync your results to our results page. For instructions on how to set up RunKeeper, follow these instructions.
Step 2: You can submit your virtual result by clicking here.
*If you need assistance submitting your results, please follow these instructions.
Step 3: Once there, you will prompted to sign in to Race Roster or enter your name and confirmation number (which can be found on your original confirmation email you received after registering for the run).
Step 4: Select the event in which you participated from the drop down menu and enter the time it took to complete your run. Optional: If you would like to upload a photo of your app/device summary report, you can do that.
Hit submit and you are all set!
Post Race & Awards
POST RACE:
After this years run, all participants will receive a virtual goodie bag via the email they have provided at registration. Results will be available on line after March 7th.
RACE RESULTS:
Participants can choose to use an app/device of their choice to track their run. You will be able to upload your results immediately after running and view other runners results as they are completed and uploaded.
AWARDS:
We will not be doing top finisher awards this year. However, keep an eye out for some fun social media challenges and opportunities to win prizes. Prizes will also be awarded to the Best Dressed OX! If you haven’t already, make sure to LIKE or FOLLOW us on Facebook and Instagram at:
